GoyDNS is an authoritative nameserver. It answers only for zones you host here. It is not a recursive resolver, not a public DNS filter, and not a CDN. There is no SLA and no uptime promise.

Accounts

An account is a 16-digit token, shown once at register. Optional TOTP. No email, no username recovery. If you lose the token, that account is gone. You are responsible for keeping the token secret and for activity under it.

Zones

Five zones per account, fifty user records per zone. Types: A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT, MX. No wildcards. No user NS, SOA, or DNSSEC records. No names under goydns.com. A and AAAA must be public addresses, not this host's loopback or documentation ranges.

Set your registrar NS to ns1.goydns.com and ns2.goydns.com. Glue for those names lives on goydns.com. DNSSEC signing is on for member zones; you paste DS/CDS at the parent registrar. Until you do, validating resolvers may SERVFAIL that zone.

What this is not

We do not recurse. Queries for names we do not host are refused. DNS-over-HTTPS, DNS-over-TLS, and related transports on this host still speak only for hosted zones. They are not a privacy recursor and not an Oblivious DNS resolver.

Abuse

Privacy-focused is not abuse-friendly. We may refuse, drop, or refuse to sign zones used for crime, spam, phishing, malware command-and-control, or to impersonate this service. We do that by deleting the zone, not by handing you a courtroom. See Abuse.

Legal claims

We will fight legal claims as much as possible. Informal mail, foreign-only process, and fishing expeditions get a no. Overbroad demands get narrowed, objected to, or challenged. We do not volunteer data. We cannot produce DNS query logs, resolver logs, or client IPs for DNS because we do not keep them. See Leo.

Overlay

Onion and I2P are the same product and the same caps. Host-only cookies, no HSTS. If the overlay is down, that is not a breach of these terms.
